What is membership intake process




















Look for flyers, Facebook invitations and other publicity about programs and functions that will be hosted by the chapter s that you are interested in. Events are most frequently advertised in the Upperman African American cultural center on the second floor of Fisher Student Union. Your attendance can not only show your interest in the organization, but also give you a better understanding of their programs and make connections with the members.

Once you have identified the organization that you are interested in joining, do not be afraid to introduce yourself. Choosing the organization that you would like to join is a serious decision, and one that can be greatly impacted by your interactions and conversations with the members.

Chapters complete all required paperwork in a timely fashion. No membership activity includes the presence or consumption of alcohol. Must have at least a 2. Activities must be approved one week before they commence. The flyer must include time, date, location, dress code, and any additional expectations of aspirants. Look at the National and chapter websites to learn about the organizations. Be open minded—organizations vary from campus to campus. Attend and participate in Greek events. This includes themed weeks, chapter programming and community service projects. Get involved on campus. Aspiring members are more attractive to Greek organizations when they are actively involved and engaged with the UofSC Community.
