Ginny owens how can i keep from singing lyrics

I have loved music ever since I can remember. Melodies and lyrics move my mind and speak to my soul in ways nothing else does. The more prominent its songs become in our hearts and minds, the more hope and peace we can experience in our everyday lives. Below is an excerpt that I pray will encourage you to sing hope, no matter what you might be facing.

In Philippians , Paul tells us to not be anxious about anything. Why would he command us to do something that is impossible? Paul never said God would answer our worries according to our wishes. The key here is bringing those worries to God with gratitude. I have come to love recounting to God how He has been faithful, because it instantly changes my perspective. Without prayer, there is no singing in the dark.

No rest from anxiety. But prayer with gratitude enfolds our hearts with peace. In the midst of my most restless hour, as I began to practice what Paul commanded, things began to change. I learned to forge ahead during the awkward moments of getting to know new people. It's easy to forget who I am and whose I am when I become distracted by all the things I'm not, when I compare myself to those around me and feel inferior.

But friends, our worth and our identity has never been tied to the world around us. God has given us a brand new life as his sons and daughters! I can't think of an identity more beautiful than that. What an amazing couple of days with the beautiful sandramccracken and the rest of the friends, pastors, and worship leaders at liturgycollective in Nashville this week.

Worshiping together and thinking about how we can honor God and serve others through the worship in our local churches made for a thoughtful and encouraging break from our routines. I had so much fun taping devotionals for ourdailybread yesterday, and the best part was running into some old friends! Made for a delightful afternoon! I love this quote from one of C. Lewis's letters. God's kingdom is not only full of joy all the time, but joy is also what is taken most seriously.

How beautiful is that? Think about it it for a minute. Heaven's agenda isn't just happiness or stiff choirs clothed in white. There's no settling for "good enough" or "happy" or "okay. It's joy. God takes joy seriously because there's no greater joy than the joy and redemption found in and through Jesus. Praying you feel his joy in you today! Singing in the Dark has almost been out for six whole months!!! Should we do another giveaway to celebrate? I hope you're all enjoying God's beautiful creation as the weather gets cooler and we move further into autumn!
